My photographer made it super affordable, so cost really wasn&#39;t a consideration. I was definitely a trial run for being the center of attention, which is a position neither of us seek out. Plus.....we incorporated a vintage/limited edition/first edition book shop and a pub! We were both giggling and cracking jokes the entire time, so it was like an odd date night; one where someone with a camera follows you around. <br /><br />I&#39;d totally do it again.<br /><br />Oh! I always love those engagement pictures where the couple is just standing there in front of something like American Gothic. Ours were not like that at all, mainly due to the fact that we are really really bad at being photographed. Ours were just the walking around the park kind. Normal clothes, nothing too interesting. When I got married I understood how important it was that we did an engagement session. I got much comfortable in front of the camera and we got to know our photographer better.<br /><br />When I shoot engagement sessions I don&#39;t have a time limit. I like to go and shoot to a lot of places and have my couples change many outfits. <br />We have lunch together, we have fun and in the end we know a lot more about each other. The bottom line is... they are really cute pictures, but I don&#39;t think we&#39;ll ever do anything with them. I mean, the pictures we are putting up are wedding pictures, and that day is so important, and the engagement pictures are so not important...<br /><br />I donno. I&#39;m pretty convinced that engagment pictures have been made popular by wedding bloggers who have nothing else to write about some days. Seriously.<br /><br />If you get them for free, go for it. But if not, I&#39;d have a really hard think about what you&#39;ll *ever* do with them. Even our parents don&#39;t care.
