Yeah, so I'm taller than He-Mouse. Not that noticeably, if we're both in bare feet. But plenty noticeably if I'm in heels. So here today is fellow tall woman Jamie from A Desert Fete, who found some seriously sexy flats for her wedding and is willing to pass on some tricks about how to find some of your own.
How to buy sexy flats:*1. Low profile sides--unless you are wearing some hot booties /boots, you don’t want some sh*t that covers your whole feet. You need a nice low profile on the sides.
2. Peep toes--not mandatory, but helps.
3. Toe cleavage--yes, Mouse, TOE CLEAVAGE. Maybe I am the only one here, but it goes back to not covering up. In my book, shoes that cover the toe cleavage are compositionally out of balance. Too much shoe, not enough skin.**
4. I know you are trying to go flat, but consider a low/negligible wedge or heel. It can help.
5. Curves--it all comes together with the curves. As I observed in the past, in order for flat shoes to be sexy, they can’t be flat across the foot, they need curves. Too much flat? B-o-r-i-n-g.
6. When your shoe of choice is too expensive, don’t despair. Buy some back up shoes. Wait a month. Then, start obsessively googling the too-expensive ones; with luck, you can find them on clearance.***

*These are the things that helped me. I am no expert.
**If all else fails, consider sandals, plenty of skin there.
***Examples shown mostly in brights, per Mouse's needs.

YAY! Thanks! I'm nearing six feet tall and my Mister is closer to the 5'9-10" range...so I am definitely in need of some sexy flats! And I've never worn flats before - so thanks for helping me explore this new and scary world of peeping and curving and clevaging!
This is very helpful for work as I need some flats that don't make me feel like a sexless old lady
For the wedding, however, I am wearing three inch heels that make me feel like a hottie. And I am already two inches taller than the guy
embrace the tall ladies. It is a silly gender rule that the guy has to be taller. Nothing more.
Hey, we're a same height couple too! Funny. I am almost never found in heels (somewhat out of place in the lab) so I'm always hunting for hot flats.
Jamie is the expert - love her choices.
I'm a good foot shorter than my boy and love a good pair of sexy flats. Kurt Geiger and Miu Miu always have some curvy babies. I say embrace the tininess too!
i'm only 5'2, but i love flats! thanks for the advice...i'm one of those weird people who can never find comfortable ones. i think my feet are just used to being in some kind of a heel and rebel when they have to be flat. i totally agree with jamie on toe cleavage- must have it.

wish i could get behind you, but i can't. i am nearly FIVE inches taller than ben. sigh. not that i don't ever wear heels. love em. but at our wedding? nah. if we were close to the same height i would have had no problem wearing heels. but, compositionally anyways, i needed the flats for the wedding. :)
Oooohhh.. this post is a treasure. Thanks!
