Yep, that's definitely Mouse's favorite part of this whole engagement thing: the celebrating. That's my dad pouring good champagne, in the good crystal we have never once actually used.* And that's Haystack Mountain Goat Cheese, my favorite of all the cheeses in the land. And later that night, there were apple dumpling thingies.
AND, some of my dearie bridesmaids took me out to brunch at a lovely place where they had mimosas** and a mural with mice on the wall! I quite like the looks of that mouse by the tree trunk, don't you?

All this is to say that when I am staring, horrified, at photos of bridesmaid dresses in the BAD TEAL,*** all I have to do is remember the amazing and loving people I have all around me and I feel a bit better. It's like Liz said on A Practical Wedding today: the wedding is NOT just one day, it's all this crazy planning, too. I'm so grateful for all the people who are in it with me.

Love love.

* That I know of. Maybe my dad has hoity stemware parties when I'm not there.
** Although not Bloody Marys. BRING BACK THE BLOODY MARYS!
*** Bad teal is defined by its shininess, which takes a perfectly nice Mod-Mex color and makes it into Skanky Eighties Prom.

Mouse, you will be continually shocked at how many "modern" bridesmaids' dresses look like skanky 80s prom.
