Nice mice, may I present contender 1: I love this dress. It's Miranda by Monique
Lhuillier, which means that it is almost perfect. It means the lace is "re-embroidered" and deliciously heavy. The lining is silk and feels even better than being naked. It makes good use of Mouse's lack of chest by plunging in these exciting, deep V's on front, back, and even below the arms. The only things that don't totally rock my world about the dress are 1. Price (ow ow ow) and 2. the mermaid thing. Couldn't it just hang straight down from the hip and not tuck in like that? Yes, says incredibly helpful
Anna-Be salesgirl, but that would cost another thousand or so dollars. Making it ow ow ow OW.
(5. The lacy heavy dress I love with all my heart)

Monique Lhullier is the reason I refused to try on high end salon dresses - I was scared of falling in love with all her re-embroidered lace. My fears were justified - this looks lovely. And I like the mermaid (but I also like the straight-down look too). Beautiful.
I just thought of this dress reading this post. I have never seen it ON someone, but I know that it looks great on the mannequin. And it's cheap. And I probably would have bought it had I known about it before my original dress.
Click on the pictures, the model is weird.
It's beautiful, and I think you can definitely pull off the mermaid look. It's not one of the extreme mermaid designs, it's subtle.
Yeah. Have you seen my post about the lace dress I loved? Looovvvveeeddd. It was not her though it was Lazario (who's lace dresses are *slightly* cheaper since he's not known for them, but I actually think even prettier, and non-mermaid). But anyway, it was $5K. so, I mean, whatever. It wasn't going to happen.
Oh, and the bigger problem is, cheap lace looks like cheap lace, and feels like cheap lace (worse) and nice lace starts at $1000 a yard. So. Yeah.
though I did have vintage lace, but that was a toally different thing.
I'm not going to be any help here, because I love it. Deep V's are my fave (due to same lack of chest - I figure, might as well take advantage of a cut bustier people wouldn't be able to pull off). Heavy lace is my fave.
Mermaids are not my fave, but I actually like the cut of this dress on you. It isn't extreme and it gives you nice curves.
I think most women doing the wedding dress thing run across a dress that we loooooove but could never afford. Mine was this one: http://www.lea-annbelter.com/2007_collection_kaitlin.php -- I even found a used one in my size online, but at half its asking price it was still twice my dress budget. Ah well.
PC, that one is gorgeous, too! But you looked divine in the one you chose.
Micies, I love this dress. Thanks for all the affirmation about the greatness of this dress. Now I need to let it go, because it costs more than my car did.
You probably don't want to hear this, but I LOOVE that dress and it looks so good on you....I love lace and I'm usually not a big fan of the mermaid style but some people can really rock it. That said, I also refused to try Monique Lhullier becasue I was scared to fall in love. I agree with Meg too though...cheap lace looks like cheap lace. Maybe try Pronovias?
I think it is truly lovely, you look fabulous. If you are not a mermaid fan think of the ML "claire" dress - bonus - not made anymore and second hand is more affordable. I bought one through oncewed. I love it and have to resit trying it on everytime i'm freshly showered. Delicate lace, deep V front, low but semi lace covered back and straigt from hips. $1500, minus taxes for importing to the UK (Arrgggh that bit hurt). But let's face it - that is still a big chunk. It really makes me happy though......Good luck!
I love the dress! Did you buy it? And if so, are you willing to sell it? I'm interested! sarahsteingas@yahoo.com
Thanks!
